This page explains how FreeWing handles your information on this website and in the apps and tools we make. We’ve kept it short and in plain words.
Who we are
FREEWING TECHNOLOGIES CORP. (FreeWing) Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Website: freewing.ca Email: info@freewing.ca Phone: 236-983-9251
How we handle privacy in everything we make
- We collect only what a product needs to do its job.
- Where we can, your information stays on your device.
- We tell you plainly what leaves your device, when, and why.
- We don’t sell your information or run an ads network.
- If a product ever uses accounts, analytics, payments, or keeps anything on our servers, its section on this page will say so before that change goes live.
This website (freewing.ca)
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep basic technical logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to deliver and protect the site. We don’t use those logs to track you.
When you contact us
If you email or call us, we get your email address or phone number and whatever you tell us. We use it only to answer you. You can ask what we have about you, or ask us to delete it, at info@freewing.ca.
Our products
Each FreeWing product has its own section below that says what stays on your device and what leaves it. When we build a new product, we add its section here before it launches.
Current products:
- Site4SoreEyes (Chrome extension)
Site4SoreEyes
What it does
Site4SoreEyes is a Chrome extension that changes how web pages look on your screen. You can hide clutter by clicking it, restyle a page by describing what you want in plain English, paste your own CSS, and translate French pages into English.
What stays on your device
These happen in your browser and never go over the internet:
- Click to hide
- Built-in plain-English phrases
- CSS you paste yourself
- Translating French to English (the page text is translated on your device)
- Your saved changes, kept in Chrome on your device by site name, not synced or uploaded
If you only use these, Site4SoreEyes doesn’t send anything anywhere.
When something leaves your device (AI)
AI is used only when you type a request that the built-in phrases can’t handle, and only for that request. A request to translate French works the same way: AI works out which parts of the page to translate, and the translating itself happens on your device.
For that request, the extension sends:
- What you typed
- The site’s name only, such as www.example.com, not the full web address
- An outline of how the page is built (the names of its sections and layout pieces, no page text), but only if you turn this on in Settings. It is off unless you turn it on.
That’s one site name at the moment you ask. It is never a list of sites and never kept by us.
Where your request goes
You choose how AI requests are handled in Settings.
Your own key. You can connect your own key from OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, or a compatible service. Your request goes straight from your browser to the company you chose. FreeWing doesn’t see it. That company’s own privacy policy applies to what you send it.
FreeWing’s hosted AI (when available). Once it’s switched on, you can use AI without a key. Your request goes to a FreeWing server run on Cloudflare, which passes it along to Groq to get an answer and sends the answer back to you. Our server doesn’t save what you typed or keep a log of your requests. Groq runs the AI model and may keep requests under its own terms. See Groq’s privacy policy. Cloudflare and Groq are both US companies.
Either way, the answer is checked by the extension before it can change the page, and only safe style changes are allowed through.
What Site4SoreEyes never sends
- Page text
- The full web address
- Images
- Anything you type into forms on a page
- Cookies or passwords
- A list of the sites you visit
- Anything that identifies you or your device
What we don’t do
- Make you create an account
- Use analytics, tracking, cookies, ad IDs, or crash reporting
- Save your AI requests on FreeWing servers
- Sell your information or run an ads network
What Chrome will ask you to allow
When you install it, Chrome will say Site4SoreEyes can read and change your data on all websites. It needs that so it can hide and restyle any page you choose. All of that happens on your device. The extension also uses storage, to save your changes in Chrome, and access to the current tab, to apply changes to the page you’re on.
Chrome may also mention your browsing history. That’s because an AI request includes the name of the site you’re on. We don’t build or keep a history of the sites you visit.
Removing it
Uninstall Site4SoreEyes from Chrome at any time. Your saved changes are stored on your device and are removed with it.
